Dan, thanks for setting this site up. I’m a sauna builder from Ithaca, NY who grew up with some Finns here. Yes, we have a lot of Finns here too!- many of them came here from Minnesota, following the promise of good farm land. A lot of my clients have are Finnish or have Finnish connections but many are simply drawn to the sauna and it’s culture for it’s cleansing and health benefits. I am of German and Scottish descent but always try to channel that Finnish pragmatic design when I build my saunas. Making things simple is not always that easy!
Folks can peruse my work on my website and blog. I’ll try to post here when I can but feel free to shoot me questions/ suggestions for posts. I have over 20 years of sauna building experience (and over 40 of taking saunas!). Below is a pic of my latest sauna. One of these days I’ll have to take my trailer sauna on a road trip through Minnesota and meet some of you.
